uv
Astral’s Python package and project manager
Not built here: unflab offers to run upstream’s own installer.
curl -fsSL https://unflab.app/get | sh -s -- uv
uv manages Python, Python packages and Python command-line tools.
Its installer puts uv and uvx in ~/.local/bin, and leaves your shell
config alone. uv self update keeps it current.
For a Python tool, uv tool install <name>, or uvx <name> to run
one without installing it.
With the default prefix, it runs:
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | env UV_INSTALL_DIR="$HOME/.local/bin" UV_NO_MODIFY_PATH=1 sh
It asks first, and only on a terminal. To remove it:
uv cache clean && rm -rf "$(uv python dir)" "$(uv tool dir)" && rm "$HOME/.local/bin/uv" "$HOME/.local/bin/uvx"
